Bowen Therapy is a holistic and multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing that has achieved remarkable results over the past 50 years. It is a brilliant complimentary modality that enhances other medical treatment, rather than compete with it. Our professional Naturopaths in Melbourne are experienced to diagnose and cure acute, chronic conditions and get to the root cause of any illness.
Tom Bowen, its originator, saw that the underlying source of many musculoskeletal, neurological, neuromuscular and other health problems could be found in the soft tissue fascia. Fascia embraces all nerves, bones, arteries, veins and muscles. What this means is that Bowen can help muscles, organs, nerve compression, muscle shortening, skeletal and organ displacement and more.
Bowen is safe to use on anyone from the elderly to newborn babies and on any condition from sports injuries to chronic complaints. It is also very often used on animals and is thriving in the professional horse racing industry.
So what happens in a standard treatment? Each treatment takes around 45 minutes with the work performed on the skin or through light clothing. It consists of small gentle moves each at a specific site of the body. There is no forceful manipulation, just light cross-fibre moves over a muscle, tendon or ligament. Bowen is a series of rolling movements using a varying touch that retrieves the cellular memory of your systems. So it puts the body back into its preferred balanced way of being instead of the incorrect one created by pain, strain, poor posture or other ailments.
Located in Malvern East, we provide a Bowen therapy and wellbeing services to patients across Melbourne’s inner south-east including Toorak, Carnegie, Malvern, Glen Iris, Mount Waverley and more.
